Stainless steel breather filter Ref: CXE037
Highly polished stainless steel or gloss red end caps makes this an attractive as well as useful addition to your engine. The crankcase and rocker cover breather filters the air drawn in as the engine cools, eliminating harmful abrasive material from being sucked into the crankcase and mixing with the oil. Occasionally clean with petrol or engine cleaner. A necessity on older cars and on newer cars that have the re-circulation system removed to add more power. Will fit a breather tube of 9 to 20mm ø. Ballast resistor 1.6 Ohm (Replaces Lucas 47222) for Lucas type coil DLB102 or similar. Ref: CLS1026
Ceramic ballast resistor as used in some ignition circuits where the ignition coil is less than 12 volts; the ballast resistor brings the voltage down to compensate for the lower working voltage of the coil. When the ignition key is turned to "start", the resistor is shorted out, giving the coil the full 12 volts and therefor a much hotter spark. When the ignition key is released the current has to flow through the resistor to give the coil its working voltage. An engine that starts readily but stops when the key is released, often has a defective resistor.

Distributor cap push fit type 45D4 Ref: CLS1027
This cap is used on many 4 cylinder BMC engines fitted to the MGB, Midget, Sprite and many others. It is similar to the Lucas GDC136 cap. It is a push fit cap, held on by spring clips, with push fit high tension lead sockets. Distributor caps can develop faults which are difficult to see with the naked eye. This causes misfiring, often only when the engine is under load, so it will tick over sweetly but becomes rough under acceleration.
